A good quality sable with fine grade hair and short lacquered black handles (approx. 175mm overall length).

Bristle: 1mm widest dia. x 22mm long

Used for painting straight lines, its name derives from when it was commonly used on maritime paintings to paint the rigging.

AVAILABLE IN SIZES 1, 2, 4, 6 & 8

The long hairs help to absorb hand-shake, minimising the 'wobble' when painting a straight lines allowing the artist to use the fingers of the hand holding the brush to rest on the surface to guide and control the line. When painting lines do it using one slow and steady movement of the arm.

These brushes have excellent properties for watercolour painting.
