Bob Ross, needs no introduction, but if you didn't know he was a hugely popular painter, teacher of his painting technique and television host.
His wet-on-wet (alla prima) technique has made oil painting immensely accessible and creating paintings easy to achieve. His TV show, which has found new audiences through YouTube and regular repeats on BBC4, The Joy of Painting (1983-94), was a U.S. television show on PBS teaching viewers to paint from the comforts of their own home.

Born in Daytona Beach, Florida on October 29, 1942, sadly he died on July 4, 1995 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida at the young age of 52, he still remains a beloved household name as an art instructor to the masses and his legacy lives on through his TV shows and range of products.
