OPEN Acrylics are a slow-drying paint that offer an increased working time to allow artists to use traditional techniques typically more associated with oils.
Because they dry slowly, the same paints can be used for weeks at a time by simply covering palettes or using sealed containers, reducing paint waste and preserving colour mixtures for future use.
This set is an ideal introduction to these slow drying acrylics, with a balanced selection of 12 colours ideal for colour mixing using the intuitive split primary method, plus the dedicated thinner.
Offering a warm and cool choice of each primary colour as well as other key colours, to allow the artist to mix an extensive range of colours with a limited palette.
The paints have a slightly softer consistency than Heavy Body acrylics.
Use directly from the tube for traditional styles and Plein air painting, or even for mono-printing and screen-printing.
It is recommended OPEN Acrylics are used thinly (i.e. less than 1mm thick) as thick applications can dry extremely slowly.
