OIL PAINT - WATER-MIXABLE - Winsor & Newton ARTISAN 37 ml tube - CADMIUM RED MEDIUM

Designed to look and work just like traditional oil paint, allowing hazardous solvents to be substituted for water, without any compromise on quality.

Like traditional oil paints they are made using Linseed and Safflower oils, but modified so that they will mix and clean up with water.

The depth of colour, buttery consistency, light-fastness, opacity/transparency, performance and drying times of Artisan, allows it to be used for all traditional oil colour techniques but removes the need to use of strong smelling solvents such as turpentine or white spirit. 

As a result, artists can enjoy a more comfortable painting environment,  making them ideal for:-

• Oil painters who are sensitive to, or simply want to avoid exposure to solvents such as white spirit or turpentine.

• Schools and colleges where the use of oil colour is prohibited because of the solvents.

• Artists working in shared studio space 

• Artists who work within a small home environment and wish to reduce the odour of oil painting.
