Oil Painting Solvents- Sennelier - SPIKE LAVENDER OIL - 60ml

Use to thin oil painting mediums, resins, and varnishes.

Less volatile than Turpentine spirits and allowing the paint to be worked while it is fresh for a longer time.

Produced from the distillation of male lavender it offers a higher solvent power than Turpentine, encouraging a better bond between layers.

An historic alternative to turpentine and mineral spirits it has a distinctive lavender, herbaceous scent. 

Not overly abrasive or streaky, and it evaporates at a similar rate as turpentine, a natural solvent which has been used since the Renaissance, and is non-carcinogenic.

Also be used to blend coloured pencils and also used as a thinner in colours for porcelain.

Its higher cost and strong odour means it should be used with care and in moderation, it has a strong herbaceous scent.

Use in a well-ventilated area and may not be suitable for people who are sensitive to strong scents.
