Steps for usage:
Step 1: Slide the locking clip from the pin and move pin to required hole in the scale and replace locking clip. Move pin toward the middle of the divider to reduce the transfer size or toward one end to enlarge the transfer size.
Step 2: Hold the proportional divider with one hand and extend your arm directly in front of you. Next, place the object you want to draw in the small opening of the proportional divider. Adjust the divider with one hand until the two pin points on the short end accurately reflect the size of the object from your perspective. Step 3: Bring the proportional divider back to the drawing paper or canvas, and use a pencil to mark the length of the larger opening of the divider. Since the proportional divider operates on the pivot, the small opening and the large opening are proportional to each other. Therefore, even if you use a small opening to measure an object, a large opening can transfer the measurement to a larger scale. Step 4: Continue to measure the object through the small opening of the proportional divider and transfer the scaled measurement data to the drawing paper. Use these measurements to draw a scale map.
Tip: Put the proportional partition on drawing paper or canvas to prevent the legs from moving. Even the slightest movement can cause inaccurate scales. Always use a proportional divider to measure the object, with the arm fully extended to keep the measurement method consistent.
Note: Please allow 1-3cm measuring deviation due to manual measurement.
